Default Different Surging Idle Fix....

In my searches, I found a different method to fix the idle that is not as popular as the traditional methods:

"Open up the divider between the ports on the IAC with a dremel"

Anyone tried it??

From some other stuff I found, they say trimming down the gasket in between the two ports works too...

I think I will try that first...before ruining my IAC

I think it essentially does the same thing as the IAC adjuster......minus the $50

Has anyone seen/tried this?

Which port on the IAC do you take the dremel to? I will try it as I have 3 other IAC's laying around.

with mild bolt on's you shouldn't have to do such a thing.. idle surge is often a result of vaccum leaks and or the valve itself....the proper fix is to find what is causing it and not jerry rig a so called fix

I tell you...I have tried everything. I had it tested for vacuum leaks, replaced the IAC, MAF, EGR, EGR Spacer, TB, O2 sensors....

TPS is at .98, Reset Base Idle, Fuel Pressure is at 42....and it still surges [:@]

I am running out of ideas...at this point, the only culprit to blame is my cam (TFS 1)

The only other options are to drill the TB (will also stop my BBK whistle), and I was thinking about the IAC adjuster too...do you have any experience with it?

A dyno tune can open the window of SENSITIVITY OF THE IAC to over correct.. but they make a plate with a screw in it to adjust also..worth a try

Had a shop test for vacuum leak....only thing they found was the EGR...replaced it, still surging...

MAF is calibrated for 24s....

I was thinking dyno tune....but there are none in my area. I am moving back to NY in a few months...there is a shop there that I definitely plan on visiting

As far as the adjuster.....I guess it is worth a try....but I hate to spend another $50 on something that makes no difference....the wife is starting to catch on
