Automatic trans question.

Automatic trans question.
I have a bell housing for a V8 auto and im looking at a fox body with a 4 banger/auto trans. I was wandering if I could swap the bell houseing's and be able to use the 4 banger tranny. And will the auto trans last? The motor is basically stock 302 w/"E" cam.

Im ona really tight budget I wana get somthing built before I leave for basic June 3rd.
A buddy of mine said swapping the bell houseing off of a V8 tranny would work. I was just checking if it would swap. [&:]
