Not to be a smart *** and not to **** anyone offbut how many of you have actually had dealings with DSS, as in bought an engine from them? Hearing DSS is bad isn't the same as havingbought an engine and had some problems that weren't taken care of by DSS. Every partof my engine except for the block, intake, and cam was bought through DSS. I never had oneproblem with any of it. CoastHighis also a great place todeal with.
I personally havn't. But as a consumer the only thing i can base my opinions on are other's people fortune or misfortune. That is what at least 90% of the buying public doe's. That's the only thing you can base opinion's on for whatever you are in the market to buy. If you hear or read enough negative or positive things about any particular company it's just human nature for that to sway your opinion of a certain product or service that a compay provide's.

Between coast and fordstrokers you will get similar product in terms of rotating assembly, I think you may get better service from fordstrokers but you are safe with either. I would go 347 without a second thought.

Well thanks for the input I need a new engine in my notch and dont want to blow my money on a p.o.s. By the way whats the red line on a all forged 331 or 347
RPM will be determined by the camshaft and valve springs. Probe rotating assemblies (balanced and assembled correctly) will be good for 7000-7500.

I have purchased from them in the past; never again in my future. I have had nothing but problems with the motor. After doing some research in forums and talking to people they had similar problems. Prior to my purchase I my research was reading about all the cars in MM&FF that were getting them installed and how great they ran. I have had a very nice paperweight sitting in my garage for the last 9 years. When I return from Iraq I will have it up and running again but it will be minus the DSS motor. I am sure that DSS can put out a great motor as evident with all the magazine cars that are running them. I just don't know if the guy that is not on the front page of a mag or writer from one gets the same treatment. Just my .2's

Coast High Performance, Ford Strokers, and depending on how much you have to spend Kuntz & co. and Bennett Racing all make great motors. My only experience that have with any that I mention is Coast High, a friend of mine has one with a 347 S/Cand it's a beast. The others I have talked to over the phone and from post on this site and others everyone sangs their praises.
