Default header installation

i just bought a set of bbk LT's and the matching h-pipe. i'll be installing them this weekend and just wanted advice from those of you who have done this before. hard/easy? how long does it take? anything that will make it easier? anything that will make it harder? any advice would be greatly appreciated!

plan on it taking a day... and you are going to have to disconnect your motor mounts... so inspect them closely while its apart

yea definetly have to jack the motor up just past the motor mounts, and i would recommend using an actual lift instead of jack stands because its a pain to get under there, plus you cant get the car high enough to compensate for all of the positioning you have to do without the collectors hitting the ground. Also plan on having to take the steering shaft off. Other than that, you should be OK, just might take a lilttle while. Thats the only things i ran into when i put MAC LT's on mine... but good luck

Just put the front end up on jack stands and there will be no problems with the collectors hitting the ground.

i use to have an 89 and i put bbk lt's and h pipe had to raise the motor just for the passenger side header went fine other than that but when i put the h pipe on it wasn't wide enough to fit to the header collector's i just spread it about a 1/2 to 3/4" by putting my feet on one side and pulled the other side it did the trick total installation time was just a little over an hour i've heard alot of the h pipes they send out are like that just something you may want to look for

i was reading summit's installation instructions and it says you have to pull basically everything off the top of the motor (including spark plugs) as well as having to pull the starter and all kinds of stuff. is this necesarry? i figured i would have to jack up the motor. this will be the first real work i've done on my car besides changing the alternator so wish me luck!!!

everything off the top of the motor? no way pull the plug wires and take the plugs out i didn't have to take my starter off i took the inlet pipe maf and air box out just for more working room around the passenger header it's not a very in depth install
