Default 5.slow build question.

Im currently building a 88 (mustang) 302. It currently has a "E" cam. I was wandering what else could I do to get a little more power outa it?

Could I port and polish the stock heads/intake and get decent gains? Im ona tight budget so going all out witha build wouldnt work to well.

Also about how much power should I expect witha basic H/C/I built 302? (perferably the stock heads/intake ported and polished.)

basic h/c/i will yield depending on the combo and tune 275-300 rwhp...and not really worth it to port stock heads

take it to the local recycling place and turn it in for scrap aluminum...I have one I'm gonna do that to in a few weeks when my aluminum pile grows a little more

i agree with mjr46 i have seen guys port the stock intake instead of going with a different one and they have since then baught an after market intake cause they couldn,t build any decent amount of power .
