well the ones from summit are 750 unbalanced, how much are the fordstroker ones and can you give me a link to them becasue i cannot find anyting on that site other the chp kits

X2 for fordstrokers for a shortblock and i would talk to Jay about a head cam package .
If you get the Freedom heads for 800 then add for good springs,valves,retainers,etc you wii have more money in a worse head.

You can't just throw on a cam a set of heads and a stroker kit and call it good. There is alot more to it then that. If you get a 347 kit you have to have the piston skirts clearanced because 99% of them do not fit. Depending on your cam you have to get a valvetrain that will handle what the bumpstick dishes. Heads are very expensive. Power=Money. How much do you want to make?? I bet by the time you get done you won't have money left to do anything.
Heads - look into patriot freedom series
Stroker kit - CHP or fordstrokers.com
Cam - kinda hard to recommend when i don't know how much power you want

more cubes= more power so i would defenetly get a 347 kit like i said earlier. you should be able to run a bigger cam/heads and be more streetable then the smaller cube motor which is why i think cubic inch is king on the street while still maintaining reliablity. look into cantfield and trickflow heads, 165 cc runners seems to be a common size. i have no idea on the valve sizes though i know a guy locally with a 347 and he has 2.08/1.60 valves and that thing is fast, not sure on what type heads he has though.
1. on a stroker? No its not!!

Plus I am currently building a 347 stroker and I bought most of my part from JAY ALLEN. 5000$ is not a whole lot of money to play with, i should know as that is what i got my loan for. I am getting ready to put it together and how much have i spent.............10 GRAND, that doesn't include what it will cost to tune either. There are alot of things that go into engine building not just heads cam and a kit. you'll have to get a good exhaust good t/b good maf good intake....etc. by the time you do all that you'll have spent alot more then 5000$. If i were you i would definatly take a look into a pair of patriots. They will do just fine for a guy wishing to get 350 - 375 hp. Call Jay Allen, he will probably set you up with some Trickflows, which are fine but i wouldn't get my hopes up on finishing this project with 5000$.

Don't listen to a word i said huh. So what you telling me that you dont have to havecylinder walls notched for a 347? You don't have to have a good valvetrain that will work correctly with your cam? Heads aren't expensive? I don't think i understand you to well. And for everything you can do to a engine 360rwhp is not that much. WRONG when you only have 5000$ to play with. You guys are getting this kids hopes up and making me look like an idiot. I'm really not to happy about it as I do have good advice to give. I don't really care what he does with the money, I just know alot of "newbies" do not know what head to go with or what is good and wat is bad, I just seen in a magazine that those heads did alright. I never heard anything about them having cheap parts and wat not, so i apologize for telling him to look into them, But still to get much more horsepower then 350-375 out of a 347 with only 5 grand? might be a little tough. ESPECIALLY if its fuel injected. My best advice that I could give......Trick flow high ports, Jay allen cam, fordstrokers rotating assembly, try to find a used Track heat intake or something that flows as well. If the engine needs to be reliable, and you want to sleep better, Stud the heads and the mains. Here I will total everything up for you so you get a good idea of cost:
1. reworked block, .030 over, line bored, may need decking. 500-550$
2. rotating assembly from FS, 800$
3. harmonic balancer, I wouldn't suggest cutting corners here with a cheapy, so we will say 250-350$
4. Flywheel? I'm not sure if its a 5 speed, 28 oz is the best balance for a 347 so a nice flywheel wouldn't be a bad idea. 250-350
5. trick flow highports from Jay allen, I believe they are 1400$
6. All valvtrain compenents including, lifters, rockers, pushrods, spring, timing chaing,and valves Good estimate is around 650$ forgood quality parts from comp may be closer to 450$ as I am not sure if the 1400 from the heads includes valves and springs
7. intake 450-600$ track heat
8. 75mm T/B 200$ BBK 75mm
9. MAF 200 + 4 bank chip 250 80mm Maf with sct chip
10. Fuel injectors and pump 450$ (36lbs, with 255lph pump) Accel injectors and bbk pump
11. gaskets and studs 250$ ARP + felpro hardware
12. I wouldn't keep stock motor mounts, nice ones may run you 100$
13. Oil pump and pickup 100$ Melling
14. nice pair of valve covers 100$ FRPP

This price is for good quality parts that will LAST
you may be able to cut some corners and find some used stuff, or even go carbuerated and save some money. Still may be a bit hard to do with that 5000$. You dont have to listen to me, but i just got through doing this **** and I think i know how much it is going to cost as i paid more then what i listed above, I did get really good quality **** though so......I'm only said to look into the patriots because when i started my motor i planned on only spending 5-6 grand.....I total it up the other night and by the time i get done i will have invested well over 10,000$. Oh and the above combo may make about 450 to the crank. at least that's what jay allen told me. He helped me with my combo and I told him i wanted 400 rwhp.Mine is pretty close to the above. Just my 2 cents

I have never heard of clearancing the piston skirts on a 347. Don't you mean notching the lower cylinder wall to allow clearance for the connecting rod?
