I'm kicking around getting a hood for my 86 GT convert, nothing with too big a cowl and wondered if anyone had input on what they think looks good. I know Cervini's makes a nice 2 1/2" for my car, but the options for an 86 are much fewer than 87-93.

2/12 is the way to go. Looks custom but not too outragous. My 89 notch has a 2 1/2 on it.

It's a steel Goodmark. I don't think they make your year in steel. Cervini's would be my second choice. Every hood of theirs I've seen has been really straight. Can't say that about most stang hoods I've seen.

2 1/2" - 3" tops

4" and bigger is way too much

only brands of glass to look at are cervini, harwood, HO fibretrands

the rest will cost you $300 in fitting and making it flat to save the $200 in hood cost, and thats if it doesn't pop off from a bad fit, cost you another hood and also a windshield

when in doubt get a 3" Harwood hood.
