How hard is it to replace the Brake Booster?
I thinking the brake booster may be my problem or maybe the MC, Im probabley going to replace them both to be safe. Does anyone have any tips on how to go about it?
How does the booster come out, is it just 3 bolts inside the firewall?

i never did it on a mustang without an airbag but id imagine its about the same. i have a 91 lx. its a real bastard. there are actually 4 nuts on the firewall under the dash. i found it to be easiest to drop down the steering column it give u a little more room for your tools and hands. after u have everything disconnected on the booster under the hood, it pretty much falls out. the mc its a little easier it just pops off with some "friendly help". you kinda have to muscle it off. but if u do the booster id get another mc while ur at it. easy way out and its 2 birds with 1 stone if the booster doesnt solve ur problem. let me know how it turs out for ya!

if the brake booster doesn't have a vaccum leak.. why spend the effort to replace it

Do you think the master will fix my pedal problem if im at a stoplight on a hill I will have to pump the brake several times or I will roll into the car behind me it freaks me right out. There are no noticable leaks from the car either...

if you've checked the wheel cylinders and all lines and are 100 percent sure there are no leaks like in the caliper piston seals too.. then if when you apply pressure to the pedal and it gradually sinks to the floor.. I'd try a new MC....... but if all you have is a low pedal due to misadjusted rear brakes then correct that

Honestly I haven't really looked the car all over or even had the wheels off for that matter yet, I don't see any leaks on the ground by the wheels or anything and the fluid seems at the same level. But as for adjusting the rear brakes I heard something about driving backwords and stopping repededly or something? The guy I bought the car off was a mechanic and he said he adjusted them but hes a ****ing idiot so I don't know.

i actualy did this yesterday... the brake booster itself is a piece of cake. 4 bolts, and disconnect the master cylinder. the part that was a BITCH was the clutch sensor. i have wide shoulders and it was damn near impossible for me to get that thing put back on.

Had to take my front seat out inorder to get under the dash. It sucks to do i was uncomforatable like it was said before its 4 bolts and the one all the way at the top is the biggest pain but the having all the right tools should help out significantly.
