bbk ssi out of the performance intakes is the low man on the totem pole as far as max power output potential

Herd nothing but bad things. I dunno why everyone looks down on the GT-40 intake it flows better then just about every aftermarket intake upto 5500rpm.

to answer your head question. i just read about it in my mustang handbook the e6 for some reason aren't as good as the e7's its about a 25 horsepower difference(and thats the difference between the H.O and non H.O) and in 1985 they started making all the 5 liter engines with roller cams so you wouldn't have to switch the cam you just need to find yourself some e7 heads on anything from 1987 and up

i have one and it is one ofthe best intakes on themarket in my opinion. on my old car stock engine with just exhaust and edlebrock performer it put down 221 and 270 at the wheels it would run a 13.5 with slicks and 3.73 gears. i changed to the bbk and power went to 228 and 287 at the wheels and times went to a 13.3 all i did was changed the intake. all the tests ive seen it has outperformed all others except the holley they were about the same. i current have an ssi with adjustable regulator im selling because i sold the fox and bought an sn95 car and it wont clear the strut tower brace and hood and do not wanna remove the brace. i wish it would fit but it wont i called bbk and they are currently not making a brace that will clear so im stuck!!!

SSI intake is a pile of crap.

Get an Edlebrock RPM-II or Trickflow StreetHeat intake.
Mo-betta and less money.

Problems I had with SSI.

1. Hits stock hood - not bad but does hit
2. IAC motor did not fit - had to grind on intake
3. sucks oil thru PCV
4. Flows like crap
5. Whistles at idle
6. LOTS of casting flash that had to be ground down
7. Cost $200 more than other better intakes

and on and on.
