Add an aftermarket cam to a stock 5.0, youll actually lose horsepower. You need at least heads and an intake manifold

yes it will sound better but the heads and intake will be a huge bottleneck. i suggest if its bone stock to do a drop in k+n air filter and full exhaust from the engine back first

Just curious
why would you loose power with a stock motor and aftermarket cam?

not to be a smartass but i think it doesn't help any b/c the stock heads and intake can only flow a certain amount of air and a cam that has a greater duration which the valves are held open to draw more air cant because the heads and intake are resticting it so i would deff. do a head and intake and exhaust upgrade at least before you slide that cam in. you will be pleased with the power gain and the sound :]
