first off, i'm new to the board and just purchased a 302 that i am going to rebuild once my wrists recover (broke them snowboarding). I have read a lot of good info on this site, along with many others and thought i would post what i plan on using for my build to see if anyone has any suggestions for me.

here is the info:

its an 87 longblock that has been bored 30 over and has newhyper. pistons
I am going to try to find a set of gt40 or gt40p heads at the junk yard for better flowing heads
I am thinking an edlebrock performer rpm intake with a holley 600cfm carb (don't know which yet, still learning about carbs)
A ***** thumpr cam from comp cams
and the rest will just be a basic rebuild

do you guys have any suggestions about any of this? this is going to be a low budjet rebuild, which is why i'm going with the gt40's. It will be my first rebuild and then i will buy the stang to put it in later on.

GT40'S you can get $175-250 ebay. Get us some pics and make this your 347 build saga[8D]

as i said, budget rebuild. i don't ahve the money for a stroker crank, rods, and pistons.

so et a cam and gt-40 heads and a intake all this with proper valvetrain upgrade parts should be well under 1000.00

heal up well man i know how those broken wrist feel, i had a motor cyclee wreck in nov my wrist still isnt 100%

Talk to a cam rep before selecting your cam. They can direct you,to what you wantyour motor to do. A huge heart and no lungs is not the perfect anatomy ifyou get my drift.
