Timing is off.
[ul][*]Disconnect the coil wire.[*]Pull the #1 spark plug[*]Have someone bump the starter while you hold your finger over the hole[*]Once you feel pressure stop and look at the pointer over the balancer[*]Remove dizzy cap and verify that the rotor is right at #1 plug wire.[*]If it is not you will need to turn the engine back or forth at the crank and reinstall dizzy.[/ul]

Everyone is trying to tell you to make sure the #1 cylinder is top dead center....
use a 15/16 socket and turn the crank until you feel a gust of wind come out of the #1 spark plug hole... use something like a straw to stick inside.... disconnect spot connector on distrubutor, etc.... etc...
