Default Charcoal Canister ?

What is the sensor that is in route with the vaccum line that runs to the canister from the intake?

Canister Filter = storage of venting gas fumes from the gas tank.
Canister Purge Solenoid = allow purging of fumes at specific moments, controlled by the EFI computer..... otherwise, a permanent vacuum leak would be present.

The gas tank needs to breath...... whether you let it breath directly to the atmosphere (gas fumes = gas odor) or keep the canister functional (no fuel smell around the car)..... is your call...
