Default MSD Distributer Won't fit...

I just bought an EFI Distributer from MSD (MSD-8456), That is for 86-up EFI 302 motors to replace the old piece of junk. I just tried to test fit it, and the collar is to big, and will not fit in the hole. I checked Distributer model numbers and they all matched...I'm going to call Summit tomorrow to see what's up. Any suggestions guys?

return it and use the stocker. MSD dizzy's are junk. For your cars sake, and your wallets sake, buy a mod that is worth it

Hey make sure your rod that go's into ur oil pump is centered in the hole.. I just droped my motor in my car tonight and got my spyder intake all boltd up. Went to put my msd billet dizzy in and it wouldnt go past the collar and i was like what the heck.. Here the rod was just not center and the dizzy wouldnt go no farther...

I also noticed with my msd distributor, after i got it first started in the hole, I had to press it down hard to get it flush with the block.
i think the hole for the oilpump shaft is the same size as the shaft

the stock one does the job very well, the only gain is the "bling" factor (looks nice)

ahh yes but one thing you are overlooking..wildsurfer92 is carbed or for at least his carbed stangI'd reccommend the msd a msd billet whichwould be a serious improvement over the stock dizzy lack of control of timing curve as for his 92..stock is just fine
