Default 5.0 question

I bought a 5.0 motor from a local junk yard. I was looking for just a block, but he sold the whole motor for 100.00. I havent taken it apart yet and was wondering if anyone knew if if might be a roller motor or not. It came out of a 89 cadillac. Just wondering.

hmmm..i dont think its a roller motor, the block should be good for a 331 tho...it deff should be tough enough since it was in that boat..good luck

Well now... I said caddy but meant lincoln. Would be hard to build a 331 out of a 305...LOL. Victim of the brain fart!!!!

haha thats good I was starting to feel bad for you... Does it have the upper intake? does it say HO if so then it would be a roller
You can always wait for when you take it apart and look at a lifter.

check the casting numbers if it's e7te..it's roller ready and you could always pop the intake off and look for roller lifters and the spider bar bolted down in the intake valley
