Lots of trouble
<SPAN class=post>Hello
I figure since knowbody that I have talked to can help me I figured that I would try the net for some advice.
I have been having so much trouble my with Mustang. Its a 89 LX 5.0L with the HO Engine and its a 5 speed.
Well not to long ago I started having some idle problems you know when the RPM goes up and down then after two or three ups and downs it stalls.
When I am driving I take my foot of the gas the car starts to chug a little like i am touching the brake and then letting go. So far I have replaced, Plugs, Wires, Cap, Fuel Filter, Computer, Air flow Sensor. After I changed the Air Flow sensor I started having some problems with no power when the car was cold, after I changed the computer everything is back to the begining with just the Idle problems and when I back off the gas. Nothing comes up when its put on the computer thats the strange thing.<IMG src=smileys/smiley7.gif border="0"> Sorry for the way that I describe stuff I am new to this sort of thing but I am trying to learn as much as I can.<IMG src=smileys/smiley4.gif border="0">
Anyone have any suggestions?</SPAN></P>
<SPAN class=post>Awesome place by the way<IMG src=smileys/smiley14.gif border="0"></SPAN></P>

Clean your idle air control valve with brake cleaner and be sure your tps voltage is at .97 - .98v key on engine off, If you cleaned your iac and your tps voltage is good then you have a vacuum leak or a bad egr valve. Use carb cleaner or wd-40 (be sure engine is cold if you use this) and spray around all vacuum connections and hoses and look for a change in idle. If it changes then you found your leak.

Try adjusting the idle on the T/B. Oh, and like he said above, check for vacuum leaks.</P>
You said the car chugged if you let off the gas and just let the motor pull correct? At what speed and rpm does this happen? If the rpm is too low and your in a higher gear all stick ars will do that.</P><edited><editID>br93lx</editID><editDate>37921.6476273148</editDate></edited>

Its fuel Injected so I can't really adjust the idle, when the car is warm and I stop the car the idle goes crazy, from 700 or 800 down to 300 and then back up again. As for the the chugging while I am driving doesn't matter what the RPM is it will do it at any RPM. I am at a totally loss, not to mention the computer does not come up with anything.<IMG src=smileys/smiley7.gif border="0">
