Rear air bags
I heard that people at the track run rear air bags.. 5lbs drivers side and 12lbs passenger side. Can someone please explain what these airbags are/how they help? and link me to them for a fox body stang.

RE: Rear air bags
When you see a car launch hard which front tire would you say come's up more. The drivers side do's. That means the pass side rear is squating more. I have a bag on the pass side, it's the only one that's really needed. With the bag on pass side it helps for a more even launch.

RE: Rear air bags
i used 8 pounds in my '89 it worked great...any more and it will start to raise that side and look uneven.
they are universal....you just get a bag that goes inside the coil spring, and a lentgh of tubing...you drill through the trunk and put the valve there.
call detroit speed shops http://www.detroitspeedshops.com if you need help

$25-$30 for a single bag
and yes i think it does...BUT...if you can cut 1.6X 60 foots now...then don't bother ...but if you are in the 1.8X + range then yes i would do it

RE: Rear air bags
a bone stock 5.0 5 speed on 4.10's and 5k launch can cut 1.65-1.69 all day long
on cheaters w/ a 3500 launch more like 1.72-ish
my '89 was setup similar to you now...it pulled of13.20's @ 102and 12.50's spraying 75 dry
don't shortsell yourself , full slicks you can hit 12's on a big launch
and yes...8 psi was good for me. play w/ it at the track though...you might see a little diff w/ diff pressure
