Default RE: car wont run, just replaced...

So i set my tps to .98v yet my car is still stumbling and missing like crazy. the idle also will go irradic when i come to a stop or redlight. I dont know what to do now. I still need to replace the egr that i ordered but i dont think that is causing my problems. Do you think possibly my timing is off or something? I dont understand!! and im getting super frustrated! i appreciate any help! thanks - Jay

personally I'd stop throwing parts at it cause everyone here is wrong!!!.....start from square 1 and run a koeo/koer test and check for codes...then from there if no codes are present.. make sure the tps you put on is set properly and look for vaccum leaks

Well the mechanic that usually works on my car said that everytime hes tried to run codes on my car, even when he knew the problem with it, my car wouldnt throw the code for it. He said something like the computer is bypassed but i dont think thats possible... can my timing change without me touching it? maybe the timing is off. I dont know how to check that tho. any more ideas??

about 2 months ago, my msd iginition box fried. Unaware to me the old one that fried was a msd 6 btm (or thats what the guy who sold me the car says) and the one i replaced it with is a msd 6al box. Would this have something to do with it? and if not is this just bad in general and should i do something about it? thanks - Jay

I think either the mechanic doesn't have the right software for his scanner or wrong type or he's not well versed enough on the eec -iv to do such ..but you don't need a mech to do such.. here try this:

i'm gonna suggest timing. Sounds like the spark's off when u gas on it. The higher the RMP the further it get's off. Whats the offset for your b303 cam? A timing light isn't expensive and it's pretty easy to operate. If you have a wabbly mustang cause of a cam things can come lose. I would start there.

That or it's the ECU

Im not sure of the offset of the cam. Im hoping that the timing is the problem. My car is at the shop right now so the timing could be played with. I didnt feel confident in trying to time my car for the first time. If this doesnt work, what else could i try? Thanks for everyones help by the way [sm=icon_cheers.gif]

it could be the ECU as well. The car I have right now needs one and it does something similar. Also it load's up and has trouble running after a short time.
