how do you tell if a 1989 lx mustang is a real saleen or not?

89 was the first year saleen put a date tag on the firewall including the last 6 digits of the vin ..
should have a 170 speedo .. hurst short shifter .. different seat design .. grooved 4 wheel disc brakes ...

There should also be a plaque inside the car next to the shifter with the car's serial # on it.
