not a huge diff, box stock the p's have smaller exhaust valves but both have 1.85 intakes
the p's have a weird plug angle that probably will require "p" specific headers
personally i like the cobra/lightning heads better.
to visually id them..... 40's have 3 hash marks on the ends, "p"'s have 4 and for the most part real 40's will have a casting number starting w/ f3ze
either should be ported a bit and comp valve job to really make good w/ them
