Default steeda cam

anyone running the steeda 19 in there car??? was told to run that instead of the x cam like i posted earlier and wanted to now more about it thanks

I got some basic specs for you...

X303 - 224*/224* - 286*/286* - .542"/.542" - .339"/.339" - 112* - 107*/117* - 3,500-6,500 RPM
Overlap: 62 degrees.
1.6 Rocker Ratio
Intake Opening: 5* BTDC
Intake Closing: 39* ABDC
Exhaust Opening: 49* BBDC
Exhaust Closing: 5* BTDC

Steeda #19 - 220*/226* - 280*/286* - .480"/.480" - 115* - 2,300-6,000 RPM

1.6 Roller Rockers
Intake Opening: 26* BTDC
Intake Closing: 74* ABDC
Exhaust Opening: 79* BBDC
Exhaust Closing: 27* ATDC

Recommended Valve Springs:
110lbs closed/312 lbs open

The steeda cam doesn't have quite an aggressive duration or lift, but it's supposed to be better than the alphabet cams because it has more lift on the exhaust end, which our cars like, as opposed to being identical for intake and exhaust. The #19 also has a slightly wider lobe separation to help reduce idle problems on 94-95 cars. If you don't have a 94-5 and still want the steeda, you can go with the #18.

ou can bump the total lift to around .510 with 1.7/1.72 rockers

if this helps any i want to keep the car street-able...but take it to the track anytime also.....a mustang shop told me not to go with a custom cam because it wont do me much good since im gonna be driving it nights and weekends...he recomended the 19 cam so i called steeda but the guy wasnt much help..looking into it now and as mentioned before its made for the 94-95 stangs..i have an 89gt with a b-cam which has the same lift as the steeda 18 so im back to square one again[:@]

How can a mustang shop compare any OTS cam to a camshaft that hasn't been designed yet?

if you wanna keep it mild and streetable pick a cam around the 220 duration range and somewhere around 500 lift perferably with a dual pattern lobe design

i want something more aggressive then the b-cam that i have in the car now so im lookin at every cam availible for my car..

well lope is nice..but dont mean more power...i wanna put something in thtas gonna be better then my b-303 cam and something that would be a bit more lopey i seen the edelbrock cam 227/234 at.50lift and 520/520 112* i was told more lift ont he exhaust side is better for 5.0s'
