Default Need Help...

Ok here's my issue. I have a 87 GT with 275/60/15's on 15x8 draglite wheels on the rear. On the passenger side rear the tire rubs the upper control arm and the tailpipe but not on the drivers side. I also noticed the spacing from the front and rear of the tire to the fender is much different on the RR. On the LR the spacing is equal. On the RR its not.

My question is could the rear end have shifted one way or the other??

Any ideas on how to remedy this issue besides getting a smaller tire.

yes but it won't be cheap!! I had simialar issue and here's what I did..bought 1/4 spacers from M/M...and then removed quad shocks and that helped rear rub probs but when cornering moderate rear rub still occured so I bought a MM panhard bar and locked rear to body and let me tell you this thing launches hard and straight and no rub whatsoever!!..here's final product:

well ...you could take BIRTHA out and persuade the inner well in a little where it rubs......I installed longer studs in the axles with 1/4 inch spacers....= 20 dollars.....1/4 spacers from MM= 100.00........and pan hard bar from MM = 400.00 if I remember right..........as for differences side to side.. minw showed a little but not much.....I'd make sure there are no bent control arms or worn rear suspension bushungs allowing rear axle to shift a bit.....but I did all my mods in an effort to strengthen launch capabilities and correct rub...all in all it is rock solid for the power I throw to it and I'm well pleased with the handling capapbilities...and THANKS!!

I had had the same issue. I removed the quad shocks and installed stiffer upper and lower control arms. Now, it rarely rubs. Ive got to fly around a corner for it to rub now.
