can anyone tell me the difference of the street cams and other cams. are street cams able to pass emissions and racing cams not? or really what is the difference? do racing cams shorten the life considerably of the engine?

Racing cams are for flat out acceleration, they have poor drivability, low vacuum, privide HIGH RPM power and little torque, and are hard on the valvetrain. Street / Strip cams provide power at a reasonable street rpm and still idle descent, lower lifts and makes more power down low. Not usually emissions legal but can be.
