Putting fluid in a manual is a peice of cake with the right tools. Ever seen a fluid sucker? its like a grease gun housing with a pull/ push rod on it and a long rubber tube.. Stick the tube in ur tranny bottle suck it out and then put it in ur tranny and push the rod in on the sucking gun.. On a lift should only take 10mins to drain and refill tranny fluid..

ok, 5th going in and out sounds to me like a piece of something in the way of the shift linkage for 5th

as for it only having 4th, he either totally ****ed his countershaft, or more likly broke the gear on his input shaft

either way that trans is trash, a rebuild kit isnt going to do **** for you, you need hard parts, and lots of them

no the 83trans is a non world class piece, and is ****, it wont last too long if he drive it like a mustang

just go to deperformance.com and spend 999 on a rebuilt stocker
