Default o wise 5-0 geeks ( cam choices)

Ok so iam "planning" my rebuild and i might end up just porting the ol' e7s... or finding a set of exploder heads ( dont care if theres P's or not) and either a pro products or an eploder intake.

Now iam torn between cam choices (i dont want to hear crap about "aw letter cams are out dated") OH WELL they have the specs i like just over 500 lift and between 220-226 duration all around.

So here my choices

> trickflow stg 1...

> f-cam

> B-cam with 1.7 rrs

If you have any other reccomendations dont hold back but iam trying not to spend 250+ on a cam alone.

Thanks in advance

tfs stage 1 if those are your choices....it's a dual pattern cam and would better suit the build....but honestly the heads are what'll hold your performance back and render a cam swap kinda unnecessary... if you can don't even waste time with the e7's and look for the p's or regular gt-40's

I have been corrected. They are close but not equal.

quote:

ORIGINAL: silver91gt

wrong, a b cam with 1.7 rockers has a total lift of 0.510
x cam is 0.542

The camshaft is the brain of the engine...... why wouldn't you want to make sure it wouldn't suffer from epileptic attacks? .... + the camshaft possible combinations with the "over 500 lift and between 220-226 duration all around" spec you mentioned are quite a few, and all different, performance wise. What is the rest of the combo?...... camshafts are not only matched to heads used........

i replaced my f303 with an Anderson Ford Motorsport N-41. it's a .512 lift cam with more duration on the exhaust side than the f cam
