Default when do i need an engine management system

I will be putting a novi 1000 on my stang in the next month or so. I have heard people talk about engine management systems and DFI after making a lot of modifications, and I dont know anything about it. At what point would I need an EMS? and what does it mean I need to do?

There are tuning systems that will allow you to set the system for FI requirements..... TwEECer, Moates, PMS....... and still maintain the OEM ECM.

Right now, we're working with a SC SN95 with a 302 and ~12 psi boost, C6 transmission, 3.73 gears, etc, etc..... we are in the fine tuning process and add the slicks....... and the TwEECer R/T has been a great tool. The TwEEcer + a LC-1/LM-1 W/B controller would be ~$850.... or you could check Moates at http://www.moates.net/

well, looking at your mods, I feel there is no need for any additional tuning, the blower is a mild one and will make 5 psi just bolting it on.
you will need some tuning and larger injectors if you use the 8 inch crank pulley with the 3 inch blower pulley that will give you around 15psi, but at 5psi you have no worry.

for some reason everyone here is stuck on the idea that you need to get the car tuned if you modify it even a little.

Thanks, well I kinda think I want more than 5psi, so After reading some posts, I'm thinking of getting just the 8" crank pulley and an anderson powerpipe to boost the psi up to maybe 9 or so? what do you think? Is that realistic?guess I'd need an eng mngmt system and tune then.

im not missing anything, I am at the point I need tuning to even get it to run properly, I've owned a pms for 2 years now, and i really like it.

but I also ran for years without any tuning devices other than adjusting fuel pressure and timing without any issues.
