Default tube behind heads

i just put ina new engine todayand realized that i forgot to reinstall the tube thatruns in betweenthe heads allofthe wayin back of the engine.Is thisneeded or can i leave it off, i have the smog pump and egr system removed.

not needed..but you do need to plug the holes ..un less the heads are non-emissions or somethin like that...but otherwise just get plugs n plug them up..

what do i use to plug them? an npt fitting? approximately what size?

Just use a short bolt, i think i used a bolt 3/4" long....the thread was large, i cant think exactly of what it was. possibly 5/8.......I'm pretty sure it was bigger than 1/2"...I'll try to figure it out and let ya know.

5/8" course thread by 3/4" long. (5/8" x 11 x 3/4")


You will probably have to clean all of the carbon build up out of the threads, which is usualy a HUGE PITA!
