I would like to connect a 1974 351w to an AOD transmission out of a 1984 grand marquis. The 351 had either a fmx or a c4 behind it, but I'm not sure. Would the flywheel from the 351 bolt up to the torque converter from the AOD? If notdid the 84' 302 grand marquis motor use a 28ozbalancer on the flywheelor a 50oz?

you'll need a flexplate for an AOD balanced for 28 oz motor... 84 302 = 50 oz flexplate = won't work

hmmm dunno my interchange knowledge on older stuff isn't that extensive....but I know you can probably find what you need on summits website

Thanks now I know what I need. I wonder if one from an 80' t-bird would work, they had AOD's in them and are older yet. I'll call the parts store tommorow and see if theyrequired a 28oz flywheel.
