Default Free Lowering job

Just wondering if I wanted to drop my car an inch or so, would I be able to cut the springs in the back shop without any specialty tools? ie no spring compressor. Would I be able to do it without replacing struts shocks etc. And how long would it take? Could this be a simple day job? And does anyone have any sort of tuorial to roughly follow? Thanks guys. (and i know its better to just pay for new springs since theyre not that expensive, but Im short on cash and figure if its free I may as well for now.)

I have been running cut springs for a couple years now and I don't mind or nidn't notice any ride change. I would do it if you are look for a style/look. It won't help handling, but it wont hurt it either if you don't cut too much off. I took about a coil off all around.

Im not too worried about how it rides, it already rides pretty rough lol. So would I need a spring compressor or any other special tools? Also how long did it take you to do it?

Why cut it? you can get a spring lowering kit, that uses nuts and bolts/plates from pep boys or autozone.

I don't see why not if its just going to be temporary.

mine rides rougher than Sh*t with Eibach springs, but i honestly don't care about how it rides

ITS A SPORTS CAR! NOT A BMW!

just make sure you cut them evenly

The whole point is.. free. If i can do something to make it look a little better for free, and im not too worried about how it rides, then why not? But i still want to know if i need a spring compressor, or any other special tools, and if anyone has a tutorial/instrucitons.
