Default shifting problems

i have a stock shifter and t5 tranny in my 88gt. sometimes its hard to put into 2nd to start off or when i downshift from 4th-3rd. could it be my shifter or a bent shift fork. its driving me crazy. will a new shifter and shiftfork solve my problem, anyone have any advice[:@]

well for one you shouldn't be starting off in second gear.. that's what 1'st is for[&:].....and as for the shifting prob I'd check the cable it's possible that it has stretched and is not fully depressing the fingers on the pressure plate to allow complete disc disengaugement....also pull up all the way on the clutch pedal to activate self adjustment of the clutch cable..this will take all slack out of cable...if this doesn't correct the issue then be looking for worn blocker rings on those gears and or worn or damaged teeth on the corresponding gear hub/sincro assembley
