Vacuum pumping the crankshaft

RE: Vacuum pumping the crankshaft
I have seen the vaccum pumps and systems in jegs and summits, but I have yet to see one installed on a car at the local track here, even on 4 second 1/8 mile cars. I have seen header collectors set up with hoses going from the valve covers to the collectors to create vaccum in the crankcase. I asked and told that on n/a motors with lots of compression and making over 500 hp it is good for about 25 hp

I've read of people getting that much hp with a good system. But it depends on your set up. You will gain much more hp with a 500 cid engine than what you would say with a 302 small block. It depends on how powerful the engine is in the first place and i've READ it depends on compression of engine also.

Dry sump lubrication. Mainly for extreme cars that see high g conering/launching, so the oiling system never has any "hiccups." Only necessary on full on race cars,a nd some very high end sports cars. They're quite expensive to setup.
