Default Mass Air Problems

So i have been having problems with my car hesitating and stumbling when i try to excelerate. My car is a 1990 hatch thats powerdyne supercharged (rebuilt 8psi), 70mm throttle body, 42lb injectors, 255lph fuel pump and a 80mm pro-M mass air and filter that is on the end of the cold air tube that runs into the fender off the back of the supercharger. I replaced my IAC, TPS, EGR, and fuel filter and it fixed my idle yet my car is still stumbling. So i brought it to my mechanic and he seems to think thatmy mass air is damaged because the actual mass air box is what looks to be separating from inself right on top where the model # and what is on the meter. So he seems to think i need to replace my mass air. Also he wanted to elimate the cold air pipe that runs into the fender because he said it make the mass air mount too crooked in the fender and could also be causing me some problems. So my question is what mass air should i try to get that will mount onto the supercharger with just an elbowso it will fit in the area next to the supercharger and fender wall. Its apox 11"x5"x8" and my pro-M mass air and filter will not fit in that space. Does anyone know what i should do? thanks - Jay

I found a vortech 80mm mass air meter on summit for 160.95. It says its calibrated for 42lb injectors but its the mass air only. How if i can, could i make this work on my car? And be mounted next to my supercharger under the hood rather than in the fender?

So i dropped my mass air back off with my mechanic so he could try and clean it up because id figured might as well try and clean it and see if it works before i pay 375 for a new pro-M 80mm Mass Air... I'll let you know once he can get to it hopfully tomorrow...

so i cleaned up my mass air and my car seems to be about 90% better... but is still hesitation at about 1700-1800 rpm... now what could be causing me problems? i also pulled all my plugs and cleaned them up... they were pretty dirty from the car running so rich... what should i try next?
