trying to figure out if my clutch cable system is stock or not...PICS
here are a few pics. The one with the red arrow is pointing to what i beleive is thepawl? Its a hard metal, not sure what the stock one would be made of. Does this look like a stock clutch cable setup? Also form this site here, is the setup supposed to look like this picture, with the hook shaped things coming down to self adjust? I have an 85.

Something doesn't look stock about your quadrant setup. Lets clarify some terminology first. The quadrant is a large plastic, quarter-circle piece that the cable rides over and attaches to. It will be plastic and have teeth cut into its radius, if it's stock. The pawl is asmall 1" x 2"oblong, plastic wedge with teeth cut into it that arepressed up against the teeth of the quadrant. I cant tell if you have all of these parts in the picture you've provided. I can say that if the quadrant is plastic, it's stock; if it's metal, it's aftermarket, and you're lucky that some other poor sap had to install it for you. Anyway, in the picture, it looks like your piece is aftermarket, because I believe the pawl should be installed on that post, in the empty space between the quadrant and the C-clip attached to the end of the post...if memory serves.

ya, the peice that the arrow is point to is meal. The cable runs in from the firewall and goes across it on the top and is hooked at the end closet to front seat, then when the clutch is pressed it pulls down/foreward and pulls the calbe tight, pulling the fork.....so i am definitly leaning towards an aftermarket also. That piece almost feels exremely similiar to one like this..

Now the question is, how do i adjust this cable setup? I cant do it from either end of the cable, so can i do it from where it goes into the firewall?

If they installed an aftermarket setup thouhgm im assuming they put one in right? Do you not always do that if you install this? and also if theres no firewall adjuster on there now, how would i adjust it, besides taking out teh whole clutch cable and installing one myself?

there's no such thing as cant!!! anyway it's hard to tell what you got cause pics are not to clear on the quadrant.. if I could see it in person and I know that's not possible with in a few minutes I could find a solution but so could alot of people
