How many wires are on the starter solenoid

CAn anyone help me out. i need to know how many wires are connected to the starter solenoid. Right now i have tons of wires on the left post. and a couple of wires on the right. I recently re-wired my alt with a bigger wire and now i cant screw the nut on the solenoid. does anyone have any pics? how many wireson each side? which wires should be on which side? Do they sell solenoids with longer bolts? thanks

still not clear, but thanks i'll check when i get home. can someone explain how the solenoid works so i can get a better understanding. thanks

I have read(no actual experience) that the Ford Motorcraft Solenoid Switch SW1951-C
or Ford Part # Motorcraft SW-1951-C E9TZ-11450-B have a longer stud.

alright. cool. i know i have way too many wires connected to the solenoid. now i just have to figure out whta wire does what.

This probaly won't help but I just did the 130 amp alt swap last week and my starter solenoid was pretty packed. I had just enough room to connect my 4 gauge wire for the alt. good luck

also be sure to upgrade your grounds(from battery to block and from engine to firewall). This is necessary get the best results fromyour alt swapand to reduce resistence and the risk of melting wires down.
