how do you tell if your engine is ballanced at 28oz and not a internalor neutrual ballancedengine? i called the builder today but its been so long sence he built it he cant quite remember whats been done to what[:@]we got in alittle argument about what the stock ballance was, he claims its 50 for strokers and stock is 28 BUT ya gotta give him a brake. ive owned the car for 2 years and it was several years before that when he put it togeather. he does remember having the transmission sent off and rebuilt but he cant remember how many splines the shaft has so im going to have to pull every thing apart before i order the parts.

im pretty sure its going to be a 28 imbalance motor but i really dont want tomess up my motor. how evident is it if you have itbalanced wrong?

come to think of it, the car had a king cobra clutch in it. that clutch did not last long at all many 6k miles or so. am i mistaken in saying that the king cobra clutches only come in 10 spline configurations or can you get it in 26 spline versions also?

ORIGINAL: 5spd GT

Yep, I had a KC clutch as well.

Good Luck when you go to replace it soon.

Just a matter of time...

1 month to 1 year is my bet.

A decent 347 with a 100 shot is going to put down more than "520 rwtq."

Just something to keep in mind...
some people just have better luck than others!! "just something to keep in mind..."

ok, to complicate things i just read that the older motors were 28oz from the factory, this block is a mexican casting with fordged stroker internals. would that mean that its still a 28oz? some times i just wana sell the thing and drop more money in to my grand national[:@]

doesn't matter what the block is..cause you can make it a 28, 50 or nuetral balance.... your worrying to much.....most likely it is 28 oz.....when I bought my fidanza aluminum flywheel it came with a 28 or 50 oz bolt on weight....upon pulling flywheel you can tell by the size of the weight which it is........also if you could take a pic of the backside of the balancer.. you can tell by looking at the size of the counter balance weight what it is....most likely you hace a 28..which is standard for most strokers..what block you have won't affect balance..it's the rotating assembley that matters
