if i could pick both up for 400$ would it be worth it?

Sounds like a pretty good deal to me assuming that they are in good working order. What kind of carb is it? That would make a difference too.

sounds like you'd be better off buying them new considering new the performer 289 intake is 120.00 and the carb if it's a 1405 edl ran me 242.00 new a year ago

And it might be the older "log style" Performer, not the newer more organic one. I'm running the new 8124 Weiand Action Plus and a Holley 570 Street Avenger, I think total new was like under $600 iirc. The 8124 is a better intake than even the new Performer.

im most likely buying taillights from him and maybe some seats and the intake and carb. I was gunna offer 400$ for all of it. Well maybe 450$.
is that carb good though?

1406 is a decent carb based of the carter afb platform.....600 cfm should be fine..I'd order a calibration kit ..in case you need to fine tune it....which will come with all the step up springs needed, metering rods and a few jets if need to change
