88 Mustang 5.0

I am going to be doing a mass air conversion on my 88 Mustang. I ve been doing some research and IST states that if your car does not come with factory cruise control that you need to buy this VSS Kit otherwise you will not feel the full potential of a mass air conversion. Does anyone know if this is really needed? Will a mass air work fine w/o using the VSS Kit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think I have read some people don't do it.

I personally went ahead and did it that way I wouldn't run into any problems.
