injector, maf and ecm questions
okay looking to do an engine swap, it'll consist of:
a gt40 crate engine from ford which has gt40 heads, e303 cam and approx.9:1 compression, running it with a typhoon or cobra intake and 70mm throttle body
question is, am i going to be able to run that reusing my stock injectors and fuel rails, and if not will 24lb injectors suffice???
if i change injectors, that means i have to swap MAF and ECM, right???
i know this crate engine isnt the best for h.p and ill only be pushing 300 at the wheels but my mustang does 5-600 miles a week and cant go to radical
thanks, NA

RE: injector, maf and ecm questions
300 at the wheels ~ 360 at the flywheel
Using the formula: Injector size = (HP x BSFC) / (number in injectors x duty cycle) ....BSFC = .5 for N/A and duty cycle = .8
360 HP will require 28.125# injectors..... or 30#, which is the closest + a MAF calibrated for 30# injectors.... the ECM will not require to be replaced.
-OR-
Bigger ID MAF + tuner (Tweecer, Moates)
-OR-
Bigger ID MAF + Tune chip

RE: injector, maf and ecm questions
so if i go with a 75mm MAF and a tuner chip i can get away with stock injectors??? that seems odd,
just trying to put this alltogether on paper to see if i can do it in august...
i imagine going with the 30lb injectors and a 75mm throttle body would be the way to go, just in case i change anything down the road
any comments on the engine/engine set up

RE: injector, maf and ecm questions
I seriously doubt you will be at 300 to the wheels with a Ford crate motor. Those motors are rated hp at the flywheel.
I am at 280 hp to the wheels, and I am still running the 19s. 19s will support up 300hp, and 24s will support up to 350hp.
