adding tranny oil through hole in shifter
I just installed a B&M pro ripper shifter which has a plug in it to add oil. I am thinking that my oil is low but I was wondering how to tell by looking down the hole. Has anyone done it this way before? I know I could jack up the car and remove the h-pipe and add oil that way but this seems easier. I don't think I can get at the top plug without removing the h-pipe.

You could add some atf through there, but its best to have the fill plug out when doing so, that way you don't overfill.
I've been able to get a ratchet in there to get both drain and fill plugs out with the h-pipe in place and the car was on the ground. You just have to do it by feel.
The way I fill it is using some clear tubing (vinyl?) and a funnel, as long as the tubing is in the fill hole and the funnel is higher than the fill hole, fluid will go in.

The exact same method I use.
Just be careful on how much ATF you put in the funnel at anyone time, otherwise you'll have ATF pouring out of the fill hole and all over place before you know it.
