Default Which oil to use???

Hello, as some of you know, I am going to be assembling my engine this week, and I was wondering what type of oil should I use to break it in with. I have heard Rotella 15w-40 Diesel oil is the best thing to use, but I have also heard that the Rotella oil has had the "makeover" and has lost the additive that makes it desireable to use. Is it true that you want more ZDDP? I was looking at Vavoline racing 30W oil, and it has an API rating of SL, and clearly states on the back that it has more ZDDP additive in it. Should I go with this or Rotella? Also, is there any special additives that I can or should put in the oil to help with the cam break in?

Penzoil Something, look on back, it has the additive you need.

Ill never go with Flat Tappet because if you dont use that oil, the lobes will fail in short order.

Ok, well I think they make the "racing" vavoline in 10w-30 as well, and it should have the ZDDP in it as well. But, is that what I need? I already had one flat tappet fail, we already discussed that, and I just don't want it to happen again, b/c now I have a grands worth of rotating assembly that I dont want to ruin. Do you know which API certification he recommends?

Thanks for that link, I just did some checking around and ZDDP is what you need more of. I found a product that is call ZddPlus, which is supposed to be the best ZDDP additive you can buy (according to them). The explain and show a chart that claims to have 4 times as much ZDDP as GM's EOS engine assembly lube. Do you all think I should get some of this??? Its $10 a bottle + shipping.

Was that problem caused by the oil or improper cam break in?
