Default which AFRs for my 94?

I am looking to get some AFR 185s for my 94 and i know some 302 heads wont work so I would like to know what AFR 185s will or of there is a difference and i would like to know what else i need to buy to get them on such as headstuds or anything else...If you guys could get me some part numbers that would be very helpful..

with a stock cam 185's will most likely clear.. but why stay stock with the cam...if you wish a custom cam can be designed to be used with 185's on a stock bottom end ..otherwise 165's may be a better option.....you'll need gaskets and if your staying emissions compliant afr heads with the smog holes at the back of the heads and exhaust cross overs

im not using a stock cam...its a 331 but i was wondering if there was a difference maybe on how the heads mounted or why the variation between the years

331 needs at least 185's

If it's a stroker you should have notched pistons already.
only worry on 185's is factory flat top pistons with no notches for valve clearance.

the variation is often a result of emissions legal vs non

You technically dont need the 185s for a 331. They just help it to come alive better! Heck stock heads would work on a 331, but they would really limit it as far as power output. I would say go with the 185s if you can afford them, and get a nice big cam. If its a 331, then the pistons should be notched enough to run almost whatever you like.
