Default Trans question

Everytime I put my AOD trans into R or D it makes a clunk type sound, only going into it not while driving. Anyone know what this can be? thanks in advance.

It could also be slack in the u joints. If they are wearing out they move a little before they ingage. That would cause a clunk not a very significant one though. Does sound like it could be a trannt mount too.

Check trans mount. support the tranny and unbolt it completely. (unbolt the mount I mean) I made the mistake of just looking at one a long time ago, but the weight of the tranny was holding it together.
