What shim are you talking about.

As for the shifting. Besides a subzero freezing cold morning, for the first 5 minutes. A hot or cold day should not give you difficulty in shifting.

Default RE: clutch question

1) i DO NOT LIKE the king cobra clutch....might be better than stock , but it feels the same and i just don't like it. we'll see in a month or so when i pull the tranny again how it held up

2) try this.... jack up the back end, put it on stands under the axle tubes......start it up....keep the clutch held in....do the tires move ? start to release it...can you get maybe an inch out b4 they start to move ???? if yes..the clutch is engaging/disengaging fine and NOT your problem

3) most likely it's synchro's lke stated b4 , but if the clutch doesn't seem like it's working properly like i said up there....try pulling the clutch pedal out by hand..then pressit back in...do that process about 3 times, and also while driving it...the plastic stock quadrant might be toasted too

Default RE: clutch question

sinchro hubs are part of the gear assembley....= have to pull tranny apart and remove gear from output shaft..if it's a prob with 4th just have to remove the input bearing retainer and pull out the input shaft..beinf careful not to drop the needle bearings that ride inside the back side of the shaft into the case
