What are these holeS??????
Hey k i think i figured out my water leak problem, on top of the timing cover theres a small threaded hole for a bolt??? but it doesnt thread into the block so does anyone no what goes in these holes, because i think it will be hard to put a bolt head in there?

If you mean thetwo on the back of the timing cover, then those should be open. Ford used the same timing cover for several cars, and some 80's cars had some extra water pump bolts that would thread into them, others didn't use them. If the proper water pump and gasket are used (and installed right) there shouldn't be any leaks from the open holes.

if that is in fact where the leak is.. you'll need to remove water pump and backing plate on pump and reseal with new gasket on backing plate applying a little rtv to gasket and install a new water pump gasket to timing cover with a little rtv applied to and reinstall all bolts and the ones you are missing
