Planning engine build soon!
I am planning an engine build this summer, Iam going with AFR 165cc heads with 1.90/1.60 valves, new 1.6 roller rockers,f303 cam, holley systemax intake, and a new torque converter. I would also like to freshen up the bottom with new bearings, poston rings, and possible new rods or maybe just reconditon the old ones. The only things i plan on leaving stock will be the crank and the pistons. Where can i buy stock piston rings bearings and a complere gasket kit for my car? Would you guys reccomend that i go ahead and replace pistons, or leave them alone since they are if they are in good shape. i want to keep them stock size. I dont wanna bore the cylinders or do any strokeing for now i may do a 347 kit later on though. i will hone the cylinders though and probable port the lower Holley intake to match the head ports. I am gonna purt in a new oil pump and a double roller timing chain. also will the valve springs on the new afr heads hold up to the f303 cam or do i need better ones so i dont have any valve float, and what else do i need to go with the cam to make sure it works right with the rest of my engine (retainers and such as this)? Thanks for all you help guys. also what kind of compression do you think i wil be running with this cobinaton, and horsepower and torque numbers as well!!!!!1

RE: Planning engine build soon!
should be close to 9.5 to 1 and as for power??? get a dyno tune to max it out..and you could see close to 300 then and I'd purchase the springs ford reccommends for the f-cam even though the springs that come on the afr heads are often good for cams up to .550 lift.. I like to match everything ftw!!
