Default buildin a 331

i have a 95 gt that had a 331 stoker in it and i tore it apart to see what all is done to it a there is to much crankshaft end play how do i correct this

You will need to reffer to a referance manual to confirm, but I believe you can use standard endplay shims. Some engines use different bearings to adjust endplay.

...not on the 302 to my knowledge...if you have to much end play you might want to check the thrust bearing = center main bearing

on the center cap it looks like the crank was rubbing on it

on the crank on the center journal should it be groved in

it will rub on the sides that is the purpose. is it bronze? i would replace the main bearings they come in a full set clevite's are a good choice they run about 30 a set. good luck

yea that happened to mine, wore into the main cap and crank, u need a new crank i am sad to say.
endplay can do that and so can a hosed up converter or install.
