Do not reuse your pushrods with an aftermarket cam, all you need is some ford racing hardened steel 6.27 pushrods thats waht i got and there only 40 bux.

Ok so i'll get new lifters and springs. What should I look for as far as springs?

What exactly is a valve job? Does it involve getting new valves?

I got the heads for $70.

you will need some new headers as well

I am pretty sure the stock ones won't work with those heads (at least mine wouldn't have)

replace everything. i didn't and had a tick. pretty sure it was a lifter. super annoying. the last thing you'll wanna do is get those heads on a figure out you got a problem.

but yeah, like everyone else is saying. take those heads and get them checked out by a reputable engine shop and get them resurfaced as well.

So let me recap:
I will resurface the bottom, valve job and new springs, lifters, magnaflux for cracks + hot tank, new headers if need be(already have some aftermarket ones).

What do I NEED to do about rockers and pushrods? I am digging into my savings to do this so I only want to replace what needs to be replaced. I also plan to do a minor port job, still reading up on it though.

I would measure for proper pushrod legnth (cam cores vary). Here's a link, if you don't know how:

um... I picked up my heads for $70. I don't think the cost of springs and minor machine work is going to justify getting nicer heads. But i guess we'll see after they're installed.
