Default noise in engine

i woke up this morning and stated up my car and i notices it started making a clicking noise i checked it was coming from the top and bottom of engine i took it out for a little ride around the block but the noise did not go away and then i also noticed that my oil gauge was real low like the needle was under the L do you all think it can only be the oil pump that messed up or other parts also

What happened the night before or the last time you drove it before you heard the noise?

i second check the oil, mine did a similar thing last year I dont recomend the out come i had tho...I was at the drag strip, beating the snot out of it all day in 98 degree heat...I got it home went to take it off the trailer and it was clickin up a storm... I was like wtf...so i listened to it and looked at my guage...no oil pressure...hmmmm...i had no Main Trust Bearing, and #2 bearing was gone....And it did not clatter or nothing all day long...I had great oil pressure all day up around 45-50 hot....What i think happened i had heated up the oil soo bad and beat it soo hard that the bearing litterly fused it self to the crank so it spun around all day allowing for no sound so now that it was cold it shrunk, and soon as i started it thats all it took....And i also found that i had a bad oil pump in the mix of it..i always check my oil in the car, but with the heat and all and the constant abuse all day it used alot of it....

Never drive your car or idle it, upon those conditions. It will turn $25 into $2500

Check the oil level and condition. If low and dirty, change oil, filter and check level.

Matter of fact, check all your fluids, including the rear end.

i dont think it has them but i dont think it has nothin to do with the cats cause all of a sudden my oil pressure gauge dropped all the way down and it was not like that and if its not the oil pump and i did mess up something from the bottom end about how much would i be lookin at to get it fixed

if the oil is full, put a mechanical oil press gauge on it, you might have a bumed out oil pump
