I've never experienced it, but then again why would I have it on neutral for no reason?
Thats definetly not normal and not very common, take it to a shop, get the free estimate and let them tell you whats wrong with it then you decide if you want to pay them to do it or do it yourself.

estimates are free ....however time spent troubleshooting your vehicle for probs is not and you will be billed at regular shop rate.....no shop in there right mind lets you cherry pick them like that......anyway check for vaccum leaks and or ignition components like cap rotor and wires for a misfire
