Default HOW MUCH OIL

I just had my oil changed at a ford dealership and when i got home i checked the level, its sitting at about half an inch or more above the full line. This is the second time its happend to me but the first time was at a penzoil quicky lube place. My question, is this where its suppost to sit or are they adding too much oil and should i take some out? THX

It should sit on the full mark on the stick. Any moron can figure it out. If they over filled it, go back and have them correct it. Assuming it's a 5.0 ( you didn't specify) it holds 5 quarts w/ a filter change.

well i usually put 7 1/3 of oil and engine restore on my oil change so i would say about 7 1/2 would be good i got a v8 and when i check my oil its about a little bit pass the full line but not half an inc if ur engine is running a lil weird then drain it just a bit but if it feels nomal then just leave it as it is

they put to much oil in it. the reason it has a full mark is so you want add to much and damage your engine. take it back to ford and tell them to take some back out, then check it when they get done before you leave to make sure it is right.

Something is wrong then, 4.5 litres = 4.7 quarts.
